Feel at Home
Interactive Installation, Live Motion-Graphics
2025

"Feel at Home" is an interactive installation in which the viewer gets to have a peek at different lives, diffrenet homes,
different stories, all through an everyday object - a Fridge.

This was done as my Graduation Project at school.

‘Feel at Home’ at the Anination Festival 2025, Cinematheque, Jerusalem.

Each time the fridge door is being opened, the viewer gets to peek (both by visual and sound) to a
new fridge, which tells a different story.
Every fridge is another fragment of reality, when all watched together, they tell a much broader story.

Opening other's fridges can feel very intruding, voyuering, but in some places, some homes, you do feel comfortable.
The installation offers to the viewer, besides observing and peeking, to observe their own feelings,
to notice when are they being judgeful to others, in which fridge they feel less comfortable,
maybe unwelcomed, and in which they 'Feel at Home'.

Wide FOV Cam- to capture and analyze the viewer’s prespective.

I was influenced from the "Interdimensional Cables" TV in Rick and Morty show,
although the concept is an endless fridge, I made 13 different scenes.

It was very important to me that the experience would feel alive, like the viewer is watching live into other's fridges,
not a video, not a still photo.  For that i've put a lot of effort on the technical side,
the scenes is live rendered, and it prespective changing according to the viewer position.
I've gotten into details aswell to make the scene and experience even richer, some things that are not noticed on first glance.
For example -  The angle of the door has an effect on the lighting inside the scene.
Viewer's reflection on metal objects, even the speed of the door can control and mimic wind on some object (nylon bags, etc.).

Screen capture of each fridge displayed (15 seconds for each fridge for the sake of the video capture), with Sound.

It is worth noting that apart from the visual aspect, I’ve put a lot of effort into the sound.
So I encourage you to view this screen cap with sound.

I've modeled and textured many groceries in Cinema 4D, after that i've built the whole system in Touchdesigner.
Soldered and installed sensors inside the fridge and on the door axis.

One of the first tests of styling, wanted to even know if im capable of live-rendering this style (also transparent objects).

Some of the models I've modeled and textured for this project,
(Some assets ive downloaded or purchased and just made the UV maps or some optimizing,
but most of the object i've modeled myself, some with a little bit of help of AI tools, depends on the object.)
